Our classic Wanderers orrery with a wonderful new feature: SOLAR POWER! 
Discrete and totally unseen within, the solar panel enables --by remote control--four timing modes: Constant on, 4 hour, 6 hour or 8 hour.  When a timing model is selected the orrery will run for that period and automatically turn off. The next day it will automatically turn on at the selected time (this cycle will continue indefinitely until altered.  The Solar Wanderers Orrery has a hidden master manual switch (when or if the remote control is unavailable).

The orrery illustrates the correct relative motion of all nine planets (yes, we do include Pluto). 
Correct relative speed means the ratio of each planet's orbital time to one another is the same ratio as in real time planetary movement. Mercury orbits 1028 times around the Sun for a single orbit of Pluto, just as it is in our solar system. The orrery model, however, speeds up the orbital times, so that actual movement can be discerned (e.g., it takes Earth a few moments to do an annual orbit, as opposed to taking 365 days).
The Wanderers Orrery presents a stunning union of art and science. The natural subtleties of the semi-precious stone planets, moons and orange calcite Sun ensure each artistic model is unique. 
Specific features include:
•    Correct relative motion of 9 planets.
•    Beautiful and stunning orange calcite Sun.
•    Solid brass gear mechanism sits beneath a glass dome.
•    12-sided hardwood handcrafted base of natural golden oak, red mahogany-stained oak or lovely grained walnut. The base receives and contains the hidden drive motor of the gearwork.
•    Planets orbit independently around the Sun. Each of the planet arms can be composed to a desired position while stationary. Once the orrery is activated, they complete their orbits at correct relative speeds. 
•    18" high with 20" orbital span.
